Action Plan: Create a MyPlate Meal Plan

 

Use the free tools at MyPlate.gov to create your own meal plan for pregnancy. This action plan will show you how.

STEP 1:

Go to MyPlate.gov/MyPlate-Plan. There you will see a blue box that looks like the one above.

STEP 2:

Select “Start” on this blue box.

STEP 3:

When you see the box above, enter your age and sex (gender). Then select “pregnant” from the dropdown menu.

STEP 4:

Fill in the rest of the required information. Then select “Calculate food plan.”

STEP 5:

Review the number of calories recommended for you this trimester. Future trimesters will also be listed if you are early in your pregnancy.

Take a look at the example provided. Remember, your numbers will be customized to you, and may not match the example.

Select the link to the meal plan for the trimester example you wish to view.

STEP 6:

Use the information MyPlate shows you to plan your meals and snacks! If you like, you can use this action plan to plan a week of meals.

Come back and create a new MyPlate Plan when you start your next trimester!
