Wash prep area, your hands, and all fresh produce.
Step 2
For the pizza sauce: dice the tomato by hand or with a food processor.
Step 3
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, half of the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Set aside.
Step 4
For the burgers: In a large mixing bowl, add the ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, remaining Italian seasoning, and pepper.
Step 5
Combine the ingredients with your hands; be careful not to over-mix. Shape the meat into small equal sized balls. Flatten into patties. Wash your hands with warm, soapy water for 20 seconds after handling the burgers.
Step 6
Grill the burgers over medium-high heat until done, approximately 6-8 minutes (hamburger meat should be cooked until it’s no longer pink in the center).
Step 7
While burgers are cooking, divide mozzarella cheese into enough slices for the number of patties you are grilling.
Step 8
Place the burgers on the bottom bun on a broiler pan then top with a spoonful of sauce and a small slice of cheese. Broil on low heat for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Step 9
Sprinkle parsley on top of melted cheese and add the top bun. Enjoy!
