Tips to control the fat in meat
Trim it!
Cut off any excess solid fat before cooking. Then, remove any remaining excess fat before eating.
Drain it!
Drain fat from cooked meat.
Use a paper towel to absorb the remaining fat. Rinse ground meat with water once done cooking.
Chill it!
Chilling makes it easier to skim off and throw away the hardened fat. After cooking, chill the beef liquids. Then, use beef juices in stews and soups.
