O n a piece of paper, make a list of the places you could have family mealtimes. Remember, the only perfect place is the place that works best for your family.

After you make the list, choose the space that feels best! Try 1 of the spaces on your list this week. If that place does not work, try another place next week.

Here are some examples of places at home that may work for your family mealtimes:

  • a blanket in a room of your home
  • a fort you build with your child
  • the floor
  • lawn chairs in the backyard
  • the couch
  • the coffee table
  • a kitchen table
  • standing in the kitchen
  • sitting on the kitchen floor
  • small folding tables
  • a bed

Here are some examples of places on-the-go that may work for your family mealtimes: 

  • a bench at the park
  • the bleachers at a sports field
  • a picnic table at the park
  • a restaurant out to eat
  • a blanket at the park
  • a grandparent’s home
