Action Plan: Making soups

 

On a piece of paper, plan 1 to 3 soups using the simple formula below. When planning each soup, consider:

  • Making a double batch and freezing half
  • Using a slow cooker or multicooker (Instant Pot®)
  • Including leftover ingredients like veggies, meats, rice, and beans
  • Adding veggies that need to be eaten soon

Choose ingredients that are: 

  • full of nutrients 
  • limited in added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium
  • from at least 3 food groups; always include a veggie
