Action Plan: Create grain bowls

 

On a piece of paper, write out a plan for making 1 to 3 grain bowls. As you plan each meal, keep these tips in mind: 

  • Make a double batch and serve twice in one week
  • Use seasonal foods
  • Vary your grains; try a new whole grain

Use the guide below to combine tasty ingredients into 1 to 3 grain bowl meals. Choose ingredients that are: 

  • full of nutrients 
  • limited in added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium
  • from at least 3 food groups; always include a veggie or fruit
