Heart disease is the leading cause of death in American women and men.

The foods you eat make a big difference in your heart health. By choosing healthy foods, you are taking care of your heart! Choose foods with less fat, and foods with healthier types of fat.

But what are healthy fats?
Unsaturated fats are healthier fats. They are liquid at room temperature. They protect against heart disease by lowering “bad” cholesterol (LDL).
Saturated fats are solid at room temperature. They can clog your arteries and increase your risk of heart disease.
